    Marlin/Glenfield 60 scope mount question

Adding a 1" 3-9 x 32mm scope, using the Weaver scope mounts for 22lr's. They allow use of iron sites or the scope. Really cool, but the mounts are kinda cheap (easy to strip) and seem like if you give the scope a minor knock, won't hold up. I know ONE thing from telescopes - flimsy optics are worse than NO optics...

Wondering if there is something a bit more stable, but still allows usage of the iron sights. I really like that concept.

    Thanks - orangeusa

You can only install a dovetail ring for the glenfield unless you install a rail. I use a bushnell rimfire that came with dove tail rings. It cost $40.

Here's a link for a rail for the Glenfield/Marlin 60. No drilling or tapping needed. The rail slides over the dovetail and is secured by 6 set screws, it stays put. Also a couple of other items that are kind of neat.
