    GSG-5PK thread

I couldn't find a thread here dedicated the the GSG-5PK (pistol version). So I think we should start one. Post up pics and your own experiances with it, as well as any mods you did to it and how you like them.

I think the gun is kind of pointless but I still want to get one because it looks like a fun way to waste (I mean shoot) ammo. I heard read, then verified they are getting sued by H&K and won't be any more shipped and won't be sold after the end of this month period.

This sucks because I want one but i just bought a handgun about two weeks ago and unless I'm wrong in CA you can only buy one handgun per 30 days?? Rifles have no limit though. Neat law

I'm not sure if this lawsuit is for the rifle, pistol or both??? They have two different pistol versons the P and the PK. The PK is the one I want. Is it possible to put a gun on lawaway since I'm not eligable to buy it now?

If this doesn't fly does anybody else make a .22 pistol similar to the GSG's that's not being sued by anybody?

    Copied from wikipedia.......

In 2009, Heckler & Koch instituted a lawsuit again German Sport Guns and American Tactical Imports, Inc. over "trade dress infringements." The suit was settled on October 16, 2009, the outcome being that GSG will stop manufacturing the guns and ATI, Inc., will stop importing them. Existing stocks will be permitted to be sold until January 31, 2010, at which time all sales will cease.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the GSG-5PK is on the CA roster ... :

The German Sport Guns GSG-5P and GSG-5PK are not on the approved list.

They must be imported into CA as a single-shot pistol.

PRK Arms in Fresno has stocked single-shot pistol versions of the GSG-5PK, so you can contact them for more info.

Also, ATI has announced that they have worked with German Sport Guns to make a factory single-shot version of the GSG-522PK for CA.

It will look similar to this.

We tried not to forget about you CA.

Geez, I need to move out of CA for a few months. Other states can get just about whatever they want and high Cap. mags.

So there are no other makers that make something similar that are CA compliant for 10 rounds?

wait for gsg/ati to make it a factory one so you can just order it from them.

A GSG-5PK is an assault weapon according to Kommifornia. If it wasn't I would pick one up. But I don't see the point of having a single shot, BButton, nuetered, rimfire clone. I would get over it and spend my money elsewhere.

sucks. So if they made a pistol similar to the PK design and it had the 10 round mag in the grip it would be legal in CA then?

Even the Ruger 22 Charger is illigal too. A bone stock Ruger with a wood stock is Illigal in CA too, unless converted to single shot LOL. Unreal. I can't undertsand why .22LR's are not exempt from these BS laws. It's not often you see people robbing banks with .22LR AR clones.

Guess I should be thankfull I have a 25 round mag for my 10/22 I bought back in the 90's. Damn wish I would have bought a dozen of them.

It is not an AW if it has a bullet button and after you dros it you can remove the single shot mag and put in a regular 10 round mag. I have one and I love it. It is also my wifes favorite gun. She calls it the G-spot because she says it feels good shooting it.
I called PRK and asked if they could build me one in 2008 and I had to wait for them to get one so they could design a mag lock for it. It took a few months to get it but was worth it. Since I got the very first one and paid up front I got a real good deal on it and was sworn to secrecy on the price. They made a bunch of them though and may even have a few left.

Thanks for the info. I e-mailed them, so I'll see what they have to say.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly certain (like 99.9999%) that you can have a 22LR AR (rifle) clone with all the evil features you want and be perfectly legal.

The problem is with pistols that have a detatchable magazine forward of the pistol grip.

Rimfire rifles cannot be class III AWs, so as long as they're not listed class I or II AWs you're good.

Unfortunately with pistols it gets trickier because they have to be on the CA-approved roster or acquired through private transfer, and they have their own separate set of evil features.

When we heard they weren't going to import any more we snapped up the few that were left at the distributors

and, when these last ones are gone that's it for them... we'll be looking into doing a new BB for the new variants that are coming out... but that makes the clock start all over again on the prototyping process and there is no guarantee that we'll be able to make a solution that is as elegant as the fix we worked out for the GSG.

So... The price is $799 if you want to grab one of these before they go away for good.

I've got too many questions about this gun. Think I'm going to have to take a drive to Fresno Thursday and check it out.

One thing I need to know is there anyway I can get one since I just bought a handgun on the 5th of this month? Do you have any 10 round mags and scope mounts in stock for these?

Checked out the GSG-5P and the GSG-5PK today. Wow I was surprised at how hefty and soild the PK feels. Held it for a few seconds and that was all it took. Due to my special case I get to wait about 3 weeks till it's all mine Wish I would have picked one up before my P226.

This will definatlly be one gun I will never sell.

Did you try the P and the PK?

I don't know if I could decide between the two....

I REALLY like full sized MP5's... but the pk looks really fun.
