    ruger 1022 VLEB?

just curious what your thoughts were on the quality of this rifle as i have recently purchased a new 1022 and im not that stoked on the finish of it. but that was to be expected and im customizing it anyway. the add i received from gallary of guns states it has a hardwood checkered stock and a heavy barrel and the msrp is 500.00 is this because it is actually a blued barrel and really hardwood and actually a limited rifle? or is it the same old painted receiver and painted barrel etc as my 200.00 1022. any thoughts?

Ruger will make limited runs for various distributors. If they order up a bunch that match exactly what you want, great. Otherwise it's just a semi-custom made to someone elses specs. I'd rather build my own.

As always, MSRP on Rugers differs greatly from reality. If you do the quote thingy on the galleryofguns ad you will see what your local dealers want for it. One of the San Diego dealers had it for $415 IIRC.
    It's not PTSD, it's nostalgia.

Bringing this thread back, as I have just purchased a VLEB. I was going for the target tactical, but since Davidsons has been out of stock on that rifle for such a long time, I couldn't wait anymore, so I'm just going to get the VLEB and swap the stock to make it pretty much identical to the target tactical model.

Does anybody know if the VLEB one comes with the scope mount like the target tactical does?
