Belgium Browning 22 cal. Autoloading rifle

Gun has a outer magazine tube that was sheared off, Browning says they have a retrofit kit that changes the rear stock and feed tube as well as changing the angle of feed tube into receiver. Would this reduce the collect-ability of this gun? Would it be smarter to have someone weld tube back on and keep "stock"?
