What' .22 based clone would you want next?

We slew of M4 clones on market now, SW, Colt, dedicated .22 AR uppers. GSG for HK, Sig 522 and also a Ak47 .22 clone.

On the list of possible clone .22 is FN SCAR, which hopefully will be unveiled at Shot Show.

What current rifle would you want to made in a .22 rifle?

My vote would be for Steyr AUG clone, that's not based on the so-so Walther G22. Maybe a close second would be fn p90 although some would argue it is .22 powered rifle.

An Israeli Galil would be nice, but the really neat ones would be a German MP40 or a G3 Grease gun. Now those would be a hoot to shoot in .22!!

I always wanted Ruger to make a C96 Broomhandle Mauser clone in .22lr. Maybe with a single-shot adapter to make it Cal-legal, and with the ability to take 10/22 magazines.

For a rifle, I would also like a Steyr AUG, please.

P90, but I doubt the magazine system works well with .22LR.

I was semi-interested in the HK/Umarex MP7 but that seems to have disappeared since they first made the announcement.

So far only the Ruger SR22 and the Sig 522 look like decent guns (haven't looked too hard at the S&W). I don't want something that's pinned together like an airsoft gun, I want a real firearm design.

As much as I'd like to see an MP40 or an M3 Grease Gun, I'd hate to see a manufacturer ruin "the look" by making them with legal barrel lengths; they would look goofy and out of scale compared to the real things.

I would love to see an M-14 and/or an MG 34 - and the latter not being some cheap, plastic 10/22 conversion; it should be drum magazine fed from the left side of the receiver - just like the real thing.

Couldn't agree more. As much as I like my GSG-5 - and I DO really like how it looks and how much fun it is to shoot - I was really disappointed with the overall quality of the thing when I tore it down the first time to clean it. Self tapping screws... holding the bolt carrier group (and everything else!) together (?!!!)... for $400.00+ dollars?!! Never again.

THANK YOU Sig Sauer for the 522!

                I think a belt-fed .22 would be kinda fun

I like the idea of the Sturmgewehr 44 (MP44, etc.)

Probably aren't going to have anybody sue GSG for copyright!

FN would never make a SCAR 22...a P90 ripoff would be cool, cause if you thought a 700$ 22 was bad, prepair for a $1000 FN 22. plus I dont see the same 5.7 action liking little 22s

                              SCAR, Garand, FAL

Actually, I would love to see the WWII model of Thompson, but the long barrel would ruin it. Same with a Sterling.
