    Sig 522: Advice Needed

I really want to get a rimfire plinker. So far, I am strongly leaning towards the Sig 522. Is their any reason I should steer away? Who has the best deals on-line or in the bay area? Also, I was thinking of using a red dot for my sights, any recommendations for the $100 or so price range.

    Thanks.

I picked my Sig 522 just before christmas, I personally think that it is far superior in quality than my GSG-5. I put a Tasco red dot sight it, works great accuracy is similar between the two. I shot 550 rounds of Remington golden bullet, and 20 rounds of CCI mini mag through it. I hade about 10 failures to fire with the Remington and zero out of the CCI. I blame the crap ammo, the failures were very easy to clear just pull the charging handle drop it and keep firing. There were zero jams of any kind. It breaks down very easily under 1 minute with no tools. I did notice that it gets real dirty quite quick, 570 rounds later it was absolutely filthy. Cleaning was not bad though. I did really enjoy shooting it, stock folded or unfolded. I would say get one you wont be disappointed and go shoot the s*it out of it. Then clean the s*hit out of it. Happy new year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try www.primaryarms.com for optics, good prices for clones and they're supposed to be better quality. Mine's in the mail...

I just picked this up seems like decent deal, probably going to mount on one of my AR's. Not sure what I'll put on the 522.
