    Ruger SR22 Red Dot?

Well the other day I took my daughter down to pick out her new 10/22 for Christmas. I thought we would probably get her a Ruger stainless 10/22.
Anyway, we ended up getting a Ruger SR22. I want to get a red dot sight for it. She does well with the red dot that is on her Savage .22 but it does not fit the Rugers picatinny rail.
Please suggest a decent, low cost red dot. This rifle will be shot mainly by my 13 year old kid and I defiantly dont need overkill with the sight.
    Thanks

I have a Bushnell Trophy red dot and I've been very happy with it. I believe retail is around $60.

http://swfa.com/Millett-1x-SP-1-Elec...ght-P9260.aspx Works good and has a smaller dot for accuracy. I have one on my marlin 795. Mark

Yes, I bought a BSA RGB dot sight at Big 5 the week before Christmas. It retailed for $49.95 but was on sale that day for $29.95. I have it mounted on my SIG SG522 and it has been outstanding so far. It fits on the Picatinny rail no problem.

Check Midway for a 30mm Millet or the TruGlo 2X. Both under $90, fairly kid proof since we used them for several years the Youth Safari Day at Norco.

Walther PS22. It is on sale now for $59.99 at MidwayUSA. I have two, and they both have performed without issues. I have used them on .22lr, 9mm, and 5.56 carbines. Great sight for the $$.

Oh, and it will fit on Weaver or Picatinny rails.

Primary Arms M3 clone with mount. I think it was $89 delivered. Gives lower 1/3 with BUIS. My 8 year old loves it.

Great for pinging plates, punching paper, and making golf balls dance.

I read the reviews and think I will order one.
Did you order the full picatinny rail and sights directly from Ruger?

The rail yes, direct from Ruger. I was going to get the short section, but I think it looks better with the full rail.

The sights I picked up from Midwest PX.

I just bought a Ruger SR-22 and am looking at optics. This is a great gun for my son and I to shoot together. Does it make sense to get a 2x. I don't have any experience with red dots so its all new to me. I saw the Tru Glo at the store but didn't have a chance to look at them. Primary purpose is plinking.
                        Thanks

A buddy of mine has a Mil Dot 6X42 STM642G sight that has never be used for $65. Would this be a good choice for the SR22?
                          Is $65 a fair price?

What is the bipod you have on your rifle? What does it cost and did it bolt right on the SR-22
                            Thanks
