Those are Pachmayr Legend T series wrap around grips for the 1911 style. Under that are some plain wood grips. You can do better than this adaptation.

hmmmm.... I dont know how he did it exactly, but I would

      mock up....
drill thru holes on 1911 grips
      remove grips
drill hole larger for recessed T nut
drop in T nut from inside grip.. most likely going to need to dremel inside grip to recess the T nut flush as to not interfere with magazine.
trim screw length to also not interfere with magazine.
At least doing this would allow you to continue to swap 1911 grips on there, since the holes would always line up.

Of course... you could always glue them on and glue the screws into place to make it look like its screwed on.

The wood grips for the 22/45 are not available ready to mount the 22/45. The grip is based on the 1911 shape. They just took stock 1911 Pachmayr Legend wraparounds at 44.00 dollars and maybe did a little trimming. Too mount the 1911 grips you must sand off the 22/45 grips. On the 22/45 the serial number is on the upper reciever. You may be able to buy a lower frame.

As far as I know, there's only one way to get those on. Fortunately, do it once and any 1911 grip will fit in the future. It's not hard to do at all and totally worth the time/effort.

In case you're interested, there's someone on RimfireCentral that sells trips to fit over the unmodified 22/45 grip. I did the "mill the existing grip flat, install grip bushing" mod on mine, with Hogue grips. I did it because I felt the 22/45 grip was too narrow.
            Just found a link:
My 22/45 wearing Dominic's hard black grips and extended mag base pad. :t Sorry it took me several attempts to get the photo correct.

I think he's making different colors now.
BTW, he is also selling an extended base pad for the 22/45 magazine...pretty neat. It's a little rough but I like'em and they're cheap!
