anywhere to get just a 10/22 stripped revceiver?

Like the title says? i see all these people buy 10/22's, then replace everything with aftermarket pieces, so why not just buy a stripped one and start from scratch? but the real question is, can you actually just get the receiver? thanks in advance rim-fire guys!

If you are talking about stock Ruger 10/22 striped receivers............ good luck. The aftermarket receivers can be had but most start at close to $200.00, no bolt no charging handle no nothing.... So for most of us it is easier to cannibalize the whole gun that can be found fairly easily.

the Nodak ones are 130... + $55 FFL fee so $185 OTD...

they dont come with a scope mount though..... I would get a KID receiver, little more money, nicer looking IMO and it comes with an integrated rail, $255 OTD

My next build i will be using a KID receiver.. theres no point in me using a stock 10/22 at all considering i wont be using ANYTHING except the receiver and its approx the same cost.

I'm really glad I picked up an NDS-22R before he discontinued them. The built-in rail is niiiiiiiice.

Me too, if i had known they were changing i would have picked up at least one more.

The new ones are nice too. I may puck one up if i get another AK receiver.

Sure, you're not really going to save any money though. You will have a nicer gun though.

Bummer about Nodak discontinuing the railed one, that was a bargain. I guess the new way allows for longer rails and rail replacement if you mash one up though (I mean, it's a .22 and I 've yet to see it, but it is possible, right?).

In addition to the above there is also the MOA stainless steel receiver which comes with a few neat features - cleaning hole at rear, extended tang with rear screw mounting area (more work, but better bedding), and threading for a threaded, free floated bbl.

The KIDD Supergrade also has an extended tang and threaded bbl mount (no rear cleaning hole though. It is alu.

The KIDD Classic is also alu and does away with the rear tang and has a normal slip fit bbl hole, but does have a rear cleaning hole.

Of course, the rear cleaning hole can be drilled into a std ruger receiver without any real difficulty if you're not the squeemish type.

buy a 10/22... keep the receiver and sell the rest of the parts.

my guess is thats the cheapest route...

theres some great aftermarket receivers out there. But to find just the stock receiver is hard, unless shootersdiscount.com has them.
