Got a True Glo 30mm Red dot for the .22. The base mount of the Tru-Glo doesn't fit the rail of my AMT Game Hunter, ( copy of the Ruger 10/22, but SS long before Ruger made them in SS) What's a good mount for this Red Dot? Going over to Cabelas and Scheels on Sunday and will pick something up.

Tru-Glo won't mount

Is there something made that fits over the stock mount on top of the receiver and then mount the Tru-Glo? So, basically, a rail on top of a rail? The AMT mount is incorporated into the receiver, not like the Ruger with screws to mount the Weaver style mount on to the receiver.Last edited by 4D5auto; 12-25-2009, 11:11 AM.NRA Life MemberComment

Best of all they can be attached with an Allen key rather than by drilling and tapping the receiver. The first one does not need holes drilled. It uses set screws to tighten onto the top of the grove. It is low profile. Nobody would drill a hole in their rifle to mount this. Once the hole drilling is being done just mount a rail. These don't require a hole be drilled.Tanks for the tip. The first one would require drilling the top of the receiver to mount that one, I think I'm stuck with the cabelas offering.

Dovetail on top is 5" long, it measures 1/2" wide on top and 3/8 to inside the Dovetail. How long is the dovetail? Maybe one of these...
