I got my wife a MKIII for X-mas. I tore it apart to make sure I could dis-assemble and re-assemble it with no problems. I even put the mag in backwards to see if it was possible to do so. Sure is ! And whats worse is that the new "can't fire if the mag is out" safety feature grabs the dimple on the mag so it cannot be released .The MKIII cannot be dis-assembled until it is cocked and the trigger pulled. This cannot happen do to the angle of the reversed mag, which is stuck in the magwell. To keep this from being an issue is it LEGAL to just install a MKII bushing in the place of the"no mag safety feature" ? { Without the new MKIII feature the mag cannot be held in the magwell backwards.} As I tried this with the barrel already removed, I was able to free the mag with an "L" shaped tool .I could not have done this if the barrel was in place.
Can I make it into a MKII hammer group legally ?
