    22lr. target pistol

hi folks, i am on the pursuit off a decent - nice 22 target pistol... so if i could get any advice or any offers it would be appreciated!

I have so many that i have picked out...

    1. Browning Buckmark
    2. Ruger 22/45 or the mkIII
    3. Walther sp22
    4. S&W 41
    5. Beretta 87 or 89
    6.Sig/ Hammerli Trailside

To name just a few of the possibilities...

    Thanks

Gof or the Browning Medalist! Way better than a buckmark!

SW M41's are okay! I prefer the medalist or maybe a challenger.

I've put thousands of rounds through my Ruger (MkII, blued, 5-1/2" bull barrel), without any modifications other than some red loctite on the front sight screw as it seemed to repeatedly back out.

I can't recall any ammo it didn't digest without a hiccup.
Accuracy is holding very steady (bad shots have been me, not the gun).
It's still going strong and, I assume, will for a while.

I don't have much experience with most of the other models. I have a Beretta 87 (Cheetah, not target). It's a sexy gun, fun to shoot, but with the short barrel it is NOT a target pistol. Also, it costs $$$ compared to Ruger.

Hope this helps and good luck on the purchase.

I have loved my MKII Bull Barre as well. They are great starters.

            hmm

I bought a walther p22 couple weeks ago and so far its been fun, great little gun, accuracy isnt the best in the world but it will go where you aim haha.

Right now I am looking to buy ruger mk3 hunter.

thanks every one!! If you know of any one who could possibly help out in my quest for a nice target shooter would you please let me know. because i have my first warm-up match in a couple of weeks and i really prefer not to have to use my .22lr contender for rapid fire(if ya know what i mean) but it works great for the squirrels..

I have a High Standard Supermatic sumpthin' or other with 3 barrels. Feels great, adjustable trigger and excellent grip. You can usually find them in CA even thought they're not listed.

I think there is an exemption for some High Standards that allows them to be sold here even though they are not rostered.

Those are competition pistols. I'm pretty sure you need to show that are to be used for actual professional competition if you want to "import" one.

These are true "Target" pistols (all on the roster I believe). I like the Steyr FP or the Volstok IZH myself.

BTW: The higher end Target pistols are more ergonomics of Olympic shooting. Alot of other guns with the proper barrel can be just as accurate.

I know acouple of people "into" Olympic style shooting... especially the air-pistols. I would love to have the Steyr LP10 just for kicks...
