    Ruger Sr-22 breakdown question

    Hi

I am thinking about buying this rifle because it seems to have the best of both the AR and 10/22 world. Here is my question has anyone broken this rifle down and replaced the trigger before, or installed the extended mag release. I asked the question at a local gun store and the person behind the counter stated that it was inadvisable at best and I would render the rifle unusable. Anyone out there have a more informed statement? Thx for the help.

I pick mine up today. The KiDD trigger is supposed to arrive as well. I'll let you know how it goes.

The counter jockey can be ignored. Head over to rimfirecentral for good information.

I have replaced the trigger group and bolt handle on mine. After the new year, I plan to replace the magazine release with a new style that has come up. Once you take the housing off the rifle, everything works as per a standard 10/22.

Put the KiDD trigger, bolt and charging handle assembly. Difference between the stock trigger and KiDD trigger is like night and day. Pictures at the rimfire gallery page.
