Well it's not exactly magic but damn near.
I just put together a little target 10/22 after accumulating the pieces for over a year - stock, trigger group, extractor, firing pin, mag. release, bolt handle, barrel...the whole nine yards - polished/tuned some of the internals, shimmed the hammer & sear, threw on a scope I had lying around and voila, I was loving it!

Then I put in a magazine and cycled a few dummy rounds with no issues, pushed the mag. release lever and nothing. I had to pull the magazine out with quite a bit of force. My first thought was WTF! The stock has very tight tolerances and the mag well is narrower than a factory wood stock...BUMMER. Then I took a look at the magazine and noticed that there are a lot of imperfections (irregularities) on the sides so I thought why not just sand it smooth and see if it fits better? So that's what I did. I used a succsession of grits from 120 to 320 and then polished it lightly with a fine wheel. I then polished the steel feed lips for good measure.

I'm here to tell ya that now they drop out of the mag. well slicker'n snot!
They slip in a lot easier too. And I do believe that the bolt slides over them better as well.
If this is old news, my apologies. It was new to me so I thought I'd share.
