          i cant find ballistics on the .58 miller, but i think thats the biggest rimfire i have ever heard of. at least as far as bullet diameter......

            58 miller/allen 500g bullet muzzle velocity of 1150 with a muzzle energy of 1468 ft lbs . at least for American rimfire

                      yeah when people figure out they can get fifty round hi cap ar's without BB's of truck stopping rounds I think you will be surprised at how fast other brass get's melted down

                        you are not the first to think of it. the issue is getting one that is dimensionally similar to a .223 at best or a 9mm at worst so you do not have to manufacture a magazine from scratches, also needs to be a non rimmed cartridge

                          id be more worried about manufacturing a new bolt design, myself.. how can you have a rimfire cartrige with no rim?

                              .380, 9mm, and .45 would all be good for a rimfire smg

                              the more I think about it I bet a tommygun with 50round drum would not only be easier to have made, but would be safer.

                              Do not forget the reason those big rimfire's went the way of the dinosaur.
