    Spikes .22lr Barrel help

I remember seeing a link on here (to ar15.com I think) about how someone basically buffed out the feed on a spikes tactical .22lr barrel so it wouldn't be as picky about ammo.

My spikes is great, but it's REALLY picky, and since I have some vacation time over Christmas, I thought it might be a good time to take the barrel off, get the dremel out and do it to it.

So if anyone recalls that link, or has done this before, chime in!

    Thanks!
    Brian

Had to do this for mine, and it worked pretty well on the CCI minimags that were feeding poorly. Also have used Win Super X, Aguila(sp?) hyper vel (very dirty and inaccurate), and Fiochhi High Vel and Fed Bulk. All plated worked, some Win unplated didn't feed after a while due to being dirty.

I've relegated to my spike's upper to certain ammo.

        1. Federal Bulk
        2. CCI Seconds
        3. Aquila super extra
        4. Wolf target
        5. CCI Stingers/Velocitors

Luckily Federal Bulk is available online now. Would like my upper to eat anything, but I'm happy since it does eat the more common cheap ammo.

After my fluff and buff, I was able to get it to feed Golden Bullets for about 100-200 rounds before I had problems. She still prefers Fed Bulk though.

Mine only eats Centurion or Vipers flawlessly. I get maybe 5 shots from a Thunderbolt and Goldens won't even go in halfway.

I've tried almost everything else available to me and nothing works as well as the first two.

So a Christmas vacation polishing party is in full force.

I might try polishing the chamber walls if I still get light strikes on my next outing.
              Thanks for the link.

I did that operation to my upper and it now feeds everything I throw at it. So I'm very happy.
Look at the tyranny of party -- at what is called party allegiance, party loyalty -- a snare invented by designing men for selfish purposes -- and which turns voters into chattles, slaves, rabbits, and all the while their masters, and they themselves are shouting rubbish about liberty, independence, freedom of opinion, freedom of speech, honestly unconscious of the fantastic contradiction...
