Did I make the right choice?

I was wondering if I can get some of your opinions on the scope I got for my 10/22. Here is what I am working with:

Green mountain 16" fluted bull barrel
    Hogue stock
    VQ Auto bolt release
Vortex Crossfire 6-24x50 AO Mildot 1" not the 30mm

It was a toss up between the Vortex Crossfire or a Mueller APV and I went for the Vortex since it was $99. What do you guys think? Should I have gone with the Mueller or will I be happy with the Vortex. My buddy has a Mueller and I liked it but it seemed like I was getting a better deal on the Vortex so I went that route.

Also my VQ auto bolt release gets stuck almost everytime I lock the bolt back and it is very difficult to get the bolt to drop. It feels like the release is getting snagged on something but I cant figure it out. Also my trigger group is one of the plastic ones and not metal. If someone has had this problem and knows how to fix it that would be great.

seems to me your choice was fine. I use vortex and it works fine for me. I am looking into getting a Mueller as well. from my point of view they are both great, are you happy with it?

I was about to get that Crossfire (70% off deal from SWFA, right?) but what held me back was reading that it has only 18-25 MOA windage and elevation adjustment. I dunno if the 18 is elevation or windage, or if this is a range of adjustability you might expect to see on these scopes. (I read it on snipershide.com, and the post was from Scott at Liberty Optics--a trusted source in my estimation.)

By comparison, the new 30mm Crossfire that has replaced it has 75MOA, but I'd be hard-pressed to pay a 125% premium for 50 MOA more adjustment.

That said, my 22LR shots drop around 10 inches when going from 50 to 100 yards. I'm no mathematician, but I think that means I need a minimum of 10 MOA "up" elevation adjustment to get from 50 to 100. And if I have already used some "up" elevation adjustment to zero at 50, then I need more than 10 MOA to zero at 100. If this scope has only 18 MOA elevation, I don't think it's enough to get to 100 yds with a flat base. What base did you get? A canted base seems necessary for this scope.

Please report on your scope after you've run some rounds thru your rig. Please count your elevation and windage clicks. I'm very interested to hear how it works for you.
