Congrats on your AA conversion. I have one for my Glock 23 and really like to shoot it.
I think most AA owners would like more magazine capacity. You should let your thoughts be known to the folks at Black Dog Magazine. Some AA owners have already put in a request, but till they get a lot of demand the extra capacity mags will not get priority. -
I didn't know that Black Dog was the manufacturer of the AA magazines. My understanding is that Black Dog was a sister company of Tactical Solutions, which also makes .22 conversion kits.Congrats on your AA conversion. I have one for my Glock 23 and really like to shoot it.

I agree with the review. I have the target kit for our G17 and G34, and it works pretty well. I like how you can still use your regular holster and mag pouches with the kit.My friends and family disavow all knowledge of my existence, let alone my opinions.Comment

I've got the same kit. Works well with Remington GB, had a couple of FTFs during breakin but none since. The nice feature of the LE kit is that I was able to add night sights so that it's as close a match for its .40 counterpart as possible.
Good review!I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!Comment

i love mine...it ran great after break in but i only run minimags...I'm the best there is at what I do. But what I do best isn't very nice. --James "Logan" HowlettComment

I don't think it's the ammo. I have the aa kit and I had to send the kit back to AA to get it fixed. The extractor put a dent on the barrel breech, so after a few rounds, it was very tough to eject the casing. Often times, I had to use the cleaning rod (like you) to take out the casing from the crown end of the barrel.
The jams could have been caused by a number of factors, not the least of which is that I had already fired 100+ rounds before the jam occurred. I will use Golden Bullets exclusively next time to see if the culprit is bad ammo. I will also try shooting more than 100 rounds of Mini-mags, too.
AA fixed my breech and took out the dent, but now after 20-30 rounds, I get double feed even with CCI-minimags Hyper Velocity ammo. it works well when the breach is saturated with oil. After the oil drys up, I get double feeds again. The extractor just can't pull out the casing. You said you went through 100 rounds, so I doubt you have the same problem. Do you find it hard sometimes to take out the used casing from the barrel by hand? Even racking the slide a few times doesn't work right? That's the problem I'm having.
I'm going to send my kit back for the 2nd time, maybe this time AA will replace the kit.Last edited by xs2k; 12-09-2009, 6:32 PM.Comment

Don't send it back to AA. Your kit is fine. This is a symptom of a chamber that's slightly too-tight for the ammunition you're using.
Take your gun with conversion slide and barrel to any gunsmith and have him lap the chamber until it functions reliably when dry (bring your ammo too). Shouldn't cost very much and is a pretty common modification to .22lr firearms that you want to shoot any kind of ammo. If you're handy with tools, there are kits you can buy to do it yourself.
The process can decrease the accuracy with ammo that mics out smaller than average, but done right you shouldn't notice any decrease in accuracy most of the time. In general, you want the chamber to be just tight enough, and you can remove material but not add it, so slightly too-tight for your favorite ammo is not really a problem, just an adjustment waiting to happen. If it was a match firearm, your chamber would be nearly perfect."Ecuador offers the United States $23 million a year in economic aid, an amount similar to what we were receiving under the tariff benefits, with the purpose of providing human rights training that will contribute to avoid violations of people's privacy, that degrade humanity," --Fernando AlvaradoComment
