+1 Lower rings are the first upgrade you need! Looks awesome otherwise. Hows the knock off scope quality?

Yup, Lower rings will have to happen sooner rather than later, those were just the ones I had kickin around in my parts box. The scope is ok I guess, but certainly nothing to write home about. Anyone have any suggestions on a decent (and relatively inexpensive) rimfire scope?

Very nice man! Although you say knock off on the scope, I like it! How do you like the RT trigger group? I've heard good and bad about them...

One suggestion.... lower scope rings.

Now lets see some targets! Again, very nice build!!





EDIT: I didn't see page two and see some posters already suggesting lower rings...sorry...but yeah when you can....they will make a world of a difference!

Your gonna love that Nodak receiver, I have built 6 of them I have used their first ( Like yours ) receiver....their sloped rear receiver (They sloped the rear to better flow with the stock ) ...and their newest receiver ( Looks more like the ruger factory receiver ) .

All of them have performed flawlessly, some with Kidd internals ...others with RT internals. That B&C Anschutz ( Green with black spiderweb in pics ) is an awesome stock...extremely rigid and well made.

thanks for the pics & anchutz support shadow. I don't really care for the spiderweb thing, but I like the profile of it, and it looks like it would be comfortable for bench shooting. Does the stock make offhand shooting harder at all?

Still haven't fired it. I just put it together Saturday night, intending to go shooting yesterday, but I ended up at work for a few hours and didn't feel like going anymore once it got dark :/

Still haven't fired it. I just put it together Saturday night, intending to go shooting yesterday, but I ended up at work for a few hours and didn't feel like going anymore once it got dark :/

The almost vertical grip keeps it really comfortable on the bench and offhand , just dont go too low on those scope rings until you actually get the stock...that cheekpiece is very high .

I started with my scope as close as possible, only to discover a painful cheek weld trying to get low enough for a full field view...has to raise the rings up a bit with that tall cheekpiece on the Anschutz.


P.S. You picked a very nice trigger , but whatever you do...dont ever try a Kidd trigger...300 more of your dollars will mysteriously float away...they are that good. There are factory triggers, tuned factory design triggers ( Like the RT...Volquartsen...etc )....then the Kidd is in an entirely different class all its own. I made the mistake of buying one , then you just have to factor in an extra 300 for each new build.

Ya, maybe I should have just gotten the Kidd from the get go. I've heard great things, and since I was starting from scratch anyway, the RT trigger pack was $220 already, I could have just ponied up the extra $80. . . but I didn't.

I think I'll at least wait until I shoot this thing before I dump any more money into it :/

Hi, sorry to bring up a 10 month old post. But just curious to hear your thoughts on the Whistle Pig barrel? I seem not to be able to find too much reviews on them. Im planning on getting the same barrel, is this the matte black 18 inch? And is it worth the extra $35.00 to have it threaded? and it came with the thread protector i take it?
