I have that one and the rails on the side will smash your fingers when you release the charging lever.

I'm going to spring for the classic army one one of these so I can mount my bipod. Ok yes a bipod and a sub machine gun looking rifle, but hey it work for out past 100 yards trying to hit a small target.

Not more than 2 weeks ago myself and a couple friends went out to Kern County Desert to break in the new GSG-5sd. Low and behold Kern County PD rolled in 2 deep. I was nervous of coarse because I had my M4 with princ50 locked but still all depends on the LEO. So after checking us all out and a bit of oooh and awwws over my M4 (colt upper and barrel) they started in on the GSG's. They had never seen em before! Asked if it was a real supressor. I said no its a fake can... unscrew it... he did... saw the long skinny barrel laughed and said that looks gay, better keep it on! Handed us all back our I.D.'s and said have a safe night. So to answer your question Shoot-it, the GSG5's have a small set screw beneath the front block that fixes the fake can in place so it wont thread off. Just leave that set screw out like I did (accidently) so when a LEO asks you can say "Its fake... unscrew it!" worked for me.

Does the Classic Army stock have a rubber butt pad?

not very comfortable. but no recoil, so it doesn't beat up the cheek

Would you mind if you tell us how much you spent for the whole setup? I was looking at getting one but not sure how much it will cost. If the cost is similar to a basic AR then it will not be on my list.

this is true but not all guns are created equal. The way guns are designed, I have some .22's LR that feels that they have way more recoil compared to the gsg5. The gsg5 is one of those .22's where you really don't feel a thing.

Cool GSG-5. Is it a 1st, 2nd or 3rd gen one? I'm in the market for one and need to know how to distiguish between the 3 gens? 3rd gens the best right?

I want mine to look like the TS eventually.

Nice GSG-5! Mine is still stock, but I just got the adjustable stock and a scope mount. Need to install it now.
