    Scope for Ruger MK3

Just picked up our first Ruger MK3. What site/scope do you recommend for target shooting that's reasonably priced?
    Thanks.

If you haven't already done so, go over to RFC for the "Source of All Knowledge" on Ruger Mark series. http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums...play.php?f=208 Be sure to view Picture Thread (sticky) at top of page. For my Mk II slabside, I ended up with this Ultradot 25 (1") red dot which utilizes standard length Ruger scope base and 1" rings.

A friend of ours let us try his MK3 out and it was set up with a red dot scope.
Being that this is my wife's target gun, she wants it set up the same way. I/ we are new to handguns( this year ) and therefore want to tap the masses for the best options. Pros and cons.( I thought his red dot scope was rather large ) She really enjoyed being able to hit cans at and I'm guessing 60-80 feet with the borrowed MK3.
        Thanks.

Ditto the Ultradot. I believe I bought mine from www.larrysguns.com.

Boomer, I went the link you provided to look at some of the pics. I was trying to figure out the first one tho. The guy has a VQ compensator on it. Why would one need a compensator on a .22. It must be the cool factor I guess.

I have a MK III with the 6 7/8" fluted barrel and mine has not hit me in the head once so far with the recoil.

Check out Truglow I have one on my MKIII and really like it, I used to have a Barska on it but it was to big so that one will go on my PC4.
