It's nice to know where "Mall Ninja" stems from. I can sleep better now.

tacticool training

Whats wrong with being trained? Its fun and educational. I try to attend as many classes as I can on all kinds of different gun related subjects. Just to take them. It might have the added benifit of saving your life someday. Hopefully you'll never need it.
Not sure I'd do this kind of training with a 22lr. But I understand his argument. It lets him focus on fundamentals rather than fighting recoil and getting bogged down in marksmanship with a heavier caliber. He's having fun, and getting out and doing something...good for him.Last edited by tacticalcity; 11-15-2009, 5:00 PM.Comment

Thanks Tactical and Superset. For the others, I spent 4hrs on the range today. I took the GSG-5 but did not end up shooting it. Spent the entire day on the 100 yard range alternating between shooting a Remington Rolling Block 45-70 with iron sights offhand at a 12-inch plate, and a Remington 541THB with 3-9 scope offhand at 3, 4, and 5.5-inch plates. Just another form of practice, I guess. Regards to all.Comment

Bring a copy of Art Of The Tactical Carbine and a laptop to the range and run through the Drils Disk(sounded crazy until I saw a bunch Sheriffs doing it, and it made a lot of sense). Lots of great drills that play in slow motion so that you can practice cheaply with a 22. Its a great way to spice up your time on the range.
But for the most fun, run a 3 gun match with your .22. A lot of matches are allowing them now and you can see how well you shoot under pressure. Some guys will shoot the matches with their centerfire and rerun the stages with their .22s to practice.
I'm still laughing about the origin of mall ninja...

This happened in a shopping mall?It was an ambush! I could still see relatively well due to the full moon, shining through the building’s skylights, and years in a dark secret Russian prison center had honed my natural night vision to that of a tomcat.A perp popped up from behind the Orange Julius counter with a full auto Kalashnikov with a 75rd drum, and opened up in the direction of my partner, meanwhile two perps popped up from behind the skeeball machine with sawed off 12 gauges. Another two perps appeared on the upper level and brought down hell-fire on us from above. One had a Winchester Model 70 in .30-06 with a 10x scope and the other was laying down suppressive fire with a Mac10 variant

I haven't laughed that hard in a long long time. Thanks for the entertainment.
As for the tactical training, outside of a professional environment you might be doing yourself more harm then good (ie. engraining wrong technique, poor shooting posture, bad tactics ect.) If you truly want the good training our Army is always in need, but if it's just for fun then knock yourself out."Everybody knows that the world is full of stupid people.
So meet me at the mission at midnight we'll divy up there.
Everybody knows that the world is full of stupid people.
Well I have the pistols so I'll keep the pesos. Yeah that seems fair."
