    squirrel hunting...

    Looking for some good areas around sacramento, woodland, yuba anywhere really a buddy and i can go hunt squirrels for a day and have a few good laughs.. Anyone know of some good spots??

    A good friend of a friend has 120 acres of walnut orchard but the squirrels just dont seem to be out and about?? Do these things hibernate?

    Ya sorry im not around there.. Im not sure if they acutally hibernate but I do know that they steal all my dropped corn cobs and take them in to their holes and dont come back till spring.

      ca GSs are out year round but prefer warm sunny days. their mating season is start of spring so thats when youll find em most plentiful.

        Don't think so. We have lot's of 'em and they seem to be out and about all year.

          the Belding ground squirrels in the Northern part of the state hibernate from the hot summer months to springtime but I don't believe the valley GS's hibernate.
