Looking for a better 10/22 barrel

I am looking for the best accuracy available and weight dose not matter. I have been reading that 16" 1/4 is the best. Can anyone direct me to a good Website. I found and like the volquartsen barrel but i dont know if 18" is of any help https://www.volquartsen.com/pictures...s-match-barrel

    thanks

I have talked to Chris at ER Shaw and he told me the best barrel length for a 22lr is the 18inch. That said check out the offerings from ER Shaw. They have a lot of different models. I had them make me a 18inch stainless straight fluted 17machII that is outstanding.. They have a 18inch bull barrel in blue for like $74.00 and it is a real tack driver for the money... Check here for a great price.

I had a stainless .920 bull barrel from Green Mountain. It shot sub-dime groups at 50 yards with bulk Winchester Dynapoint. My Volq CF Tension barrel does the same, but for $$$ more, but I was after weight savings. In my mind, can't beat the GM barrels for the money.

I second the green mountain advice, they are probably the best value in 10/22 barrels.

There is a great book by an author named House on customizing the Ruger 10-22. It's worth owning and can easily be ordered for like $20. It is full of data on barrels and other mods. Will save you money in the long run.

First, try rimfirecentral.com They are ALL ABOUT this stuff.

I also had a Green Mountain stainless fluted 18" on mine and it shot lights out. I now have a Tactical Solutions and it isn't as accurate, but it is UBER light so I like it better.

I prefer green mountain for the value and accuracy.

Yeah GM (barrels) does offer the most bang for the buck in my opinion. I shoot a 16 1/4" fluted bull and a 20" 77/22 fluted sporter. I've never seen another 22 barrel shoot consistently better for the same $. Just my two bits.

I asked the same question on the rimfire boards a while back and the clear favorite was Clark:

Another item you might want to consider when picking out a barrel is what ammo you will shooting.... are you shooting match grade ammo or bulk ammo? I wouldn't classify CCI as match grade either, I'm talking like Eley or Lapua. If you're going to mostly shoot bulk ammo such as Federal, Aguila, CCI etc then be careful when picking out a barrel, match grade barrels don't work well with bulk ammo. Some have found that out the hard way after they buy the barrel then try to shoot bulk ammo only to find out that rounds don't eject or feed properly.

I have experience with the Green Mountain and Clereke barrel, Green Mountain or Clereke barrel are pretty good and reasonable price as well. I have them both on my 10/22 and 77/22. The 16 inches bull from Clereke shoots the best. 18 inches will be muzzle heavy. Most 22lr power will complete burned and reach it maximum velocity. So 18 inches will be good for hypo velocity 22lr only and it will slow down the standard or high velocity.

Green Mountain has my vote. My friend and I were consistently picking off used shotgun hulls at 75-80 yards.
