    Rust On A 22/45?

    I have a ruger mrk 3 22/45

I was at prado shooting park and when i looked at it in the sunlight it appeared to have a rusty-paste in the safety and bolt release "buttons"

I clean it with hoppes and i put a drop of hoppes oil on the "buttons"

I would post a picture of the problem area, But it only shows up in the sunlight.

Does anyone know what it could be?

there might be a rub spot where the oils is not getting to, to protect it from the rust.

The safety and the Bolt release are made of some sort of metal, so it could be that i think becasue theyre blued also.

What the heck are you talking about? It only takes me 90 minutes to put my MK III back together.

It should not take long after all after a few times of practice. Maybe a few minutes to strip and put back together.

                          What was the verdict?
