22 cal ammo

Does anyone know what is the best 22 ammo to use with HP22A pistol ?
Also 36gr or 40gr ?

I'm not familiar with that pistol, but if the full slide blows back to cycle the next round you want a high velocity round, something with at least 1200fps and perhaps a 40gr bullet. I'd go with CCI minimags as a first choice, Winchester Super X is another good choice. Federal bulk ammo may also work but you may not get round for round consistency. These recommendations are based on my experience with the Sig Mosquito which requires high velocity ammo to cycle.

CCI Mini-Mags 40 grain are kind of the standard for .22LR feeding and function checks.
This is what I always start with when checking out and breaking in a new semi-auto .22, rifle or handgun.
If the gun works fine with mini-mags, and not with some other ammo brand or type, then it is the other brand of ammo that is the problem, not the gun.
Every .22 seems to like different ammo as far as pure accuracy goes.
Subsonic ammo is generally more accurate, but watch out for pure target loads that may be too low powered to reliably cycle the action.

it really differs from gun to gun. CCI makes quality ammo, they do well in most any gun. What you should do is buy a selection, then go to the range and shoot them. Whichever your gun shoots best with will become your go to ammo
