Suggested price of $555! May be able to build a similar gun for cheaper yourself.

Street price will probably be closer to $450. Which isn't bad considering what you'd need to buy to build a similar rifle. Unless you like building guns and having spare parts left over.

Does the big bull barrell and rubber stock and bipod really make it shoot better than the base model?

Hogue stock is more comfortable and better LOP, if it is a good bull barrel it should be more accurate, and the target trigger should make the biggest difference. Ruger's triggers are gritty and heavy IMO

I think I read somewhere that it's a Green Mountain barrel? Not positive on that though.

I like it. I called Ruger about this 10/22 a few weeks ago and they said it should be available soon.

                  Not impressed for the price.

Should be fairly accurate, I have a Tactical solutions barrel on my 10/22 and hogue stock and it shoots darn well my trigger sucks but I can't afford anything more than what I got I just learned to get as good as I can with it and it drives tacks.

Don't be using that for a backpacking gun I'm sure by the time you get a scope on it it will weigh about 8-9lbs .

I know its no bargain, but sell off the factory barrel and replace it with a tactical solutions aluminum one and you would have a kick *** squirrel gun....

When you figure street price will be in the mid $400 range, the price seems fair when you factor in the components. If you have a base 10/22 already, you can probably beat the price, but you'll be hard priced to do it from scratch. Stock, bull barrel, target trigger group, and what appears to be a Harris bi-pod will set you back a few bucks bought separately.

The use "tactical" is annoying, but then again you do use tactics when hunting rodents. Just not the black op tactics that come to mind for most.

I built one exactly the same for less than $300.

                            $200 for rifle
$35 for GM barrel (factory seconds...only thing wrong with them was the paint)
                            $40 Hogue stock
                            $25 for bipod

I can already tell you IT SUCKS simply because you might have to deal with Ruger service sometime in the future.
