Should I try to only get a 3rd gen gun or are the 2nd gen pretty much same in terms of function and reliability?

Yeah, all speculation, but it seems that with the success of the .22 versions of popular guns right now, something will be coming our way shaped like an HK MP5...whether it be from GSG (with new licensing), someone else, or HK (doubt it). At the same time, I can't believe that GSG would get out of the game at this point. If not a new licensed clone, I wish they'd come back with something using many of same parts, but apart enough with the look from the HK to make it legal. I'm sure we'll hear something in a few months.Comment

FYI we still have a few GSG 5 rifles in stock for the Cal Guns discount price $420 shipped.Comment

I liked my gsg5, I only disliked that the receiver was plastic and field stripping was difficult at first. FYI there is nothing associated with HK other that it's a copy, HK even filed a law suit against them.Comment

[QUOTE=wewex;3267110]Isn't she a beauty!!!
Maybe if you ditch that crappy stock. See if you can take a larger photo, too. I had trouble seeing the individual molecules.
That was supposed to be humor. Nice GSG.Last edited by coq; 10-25-2009, 5:09 PM.Comment

No.
There are two rifle models and two pistol models of the GSG5.
Rifle models
GSG-5 = looks like a MP5 with a long noise suppressor
GSG-5SD = looks like a MP5SD
Pistol models
GSG-5P = looks like a MP5 without a stock
GSG-5PK = looks like a MP5K without the vertical forward grip.sigpic

I bought a Colt .22 M-4 a couple months ago and have been trying to get it to shoot a full mag without some type of FTF . I've had it light primer hit, stovepipe, and double feed. I've cleaned it, fiddled with the bolt adjustment, I have three different mags, tried 6 different brands of ammo. NOTHING has helped to make this a reliable shooter. I regret buying this POS and plan on sending it in to see if Umarex can make this thing shoot without jamming.If you read other threads on the subject of the Colt/Walther M4 on these boards you will see that those same individuals that posted here ALWAYS jump in to trash the Colt......and they don't even own one. The statement that the Colt is being "made" by an airsoft company is an out an out load of crap. Since when is Carl Walther, Germany an "airsoft" company? These same 3 or 4 individuals don't know their butt from a hole in the ground. Don't listen to the doltish whines of those that know nothing about the Colt other than what they have "heard" or "read" on the Internet. The only way to truly know about a gun is to buy one or shoot someone else's extensively, otherwise, any opinions given are just a bunch of bulll**** coming from "know it all" people who really know nothing at all. I happen to own both the Colt and the GSG-5; even though I haven't shot the GSG-5 I will give you my impressions on the build quality of each.Comment
