    Buck Mark Front Sight Replacement?

How the heck do you replace the front sight on this thing? Do I need a drill press or a heatgun / tourch or something?

I Just picked it up from jail, got it home and right awya decided it was time to install my tatical solutions fiber optic front sight (came with the plan black one). I noticed that the front sight allenhead was pretty loose compared to all the others on the gun when I stripped it down to check it out (had more play to it), so I decided to get out my craftsmans allen head wrenches (SAE).

I was applying a good bit of pressure when my craftsman allenhead stripped out poped out of the socket and scratched my brand new guns nice stainless barrel ot super bad but its there

So theres still allot of play in the allenhead, probably a little more so than before, I still can try the wrench it came with but I doubt it is as strong as my craftsman. Should I have my friend drill it out on his drillpress? Is it going to be hard to find a replacement?

Ok I took my heat gun and got it scalding hot, but once again I could not budge the front sight bolt. Did I just get a messed up buckmark? Do I need to have the bolt drilled out then, and if so, how hard will it be to find a replacement?

Haha, but it has the same sight on it that I don't want, plus it would look kinda dumb with my stainless slide. I want my Tactical solutions sight on it. I think I will bring it by my friends tomorrow. He might be able to drill it out with his drillpress. That or send it back to Browning...I really want to shoot it this weekend though. But then I have to wonder where I will even be able to get a replacement screw since the Tactical Solutions screw does not fit (It's made for their barrels)

Maybe I should shoot it first? I really want the fiber optic sight on there though.

Get a stripped screw removing bit.

I speak from expierence, this thing works..... I broke off the head of a screw inside my supercharger pulley on my car, so i drilled a hole into the top of the bolt and used this thing. and that ws on at 80ft lbs torque and this mofo didnt slip...

you pop the small one onto a drill and i betcha it'll come out.

heh, that kit is way way way to large to remove this tiny screw, I'm thinking to drill a small hole right through the center then see if it allows the threads to collapse enough to pull it out. I can't believe what a PITA this is turning out to be... Why even use a screw to attach the sight if they are going to make it so permanent.

Ok so I took it to a friends house and we punched the allenhead out to the next largest size (which is now metric). Took off the front sight and tried to replace it with the TS fiber optic front sight. The TS front sight does not fit on the stock stainless flat side barrel. There is a pin protruding from the stock barrel that helps to center the front sight, but there is no hole in the TS sight for the pin to line up with so it will not mount up.

However my buddy also has a drill press and he was able to mill a slot in the TS front sight to allow it to mount with the pin sticking up from the barrel...
