10/22 Bull Barrel Hogue stock question

I purchased a Hogue stock for the standard barrel a few months back. Now I want to get a .920 dia barrel. Do I have to change out the stock? I noticied the barrel channel for the stock is rubber. Would I be able to cut/sand it down to fit the bigger barrel? Or should I just buy a new stock? Any input would help, thanks.

+1 on buying a new stock. It is more trouble than it is worth to accurately trim the stock for the larger barrel, and if you do it wrong, it can impact your accuracy.

Are you in the SF Bay Area? If so drop by Tabor in SSF, Frank customize a 10/22 with a Tac-Sol Bull Barrel and a Hogue stock nicely fitted.
Then again, he is a really good gunsmith.
