What in the HELL Just Happened?

I've been wanting a .22 'beater' rifle to take to the range, as I really don't want to get my Browning SA-22 beat up (it's just too nice) and I don't really have the desire to take out my Anshutz when I just want to fart around and plink.

I just went to my local Grande Cinco and purchased a Marlin 795. The thread here kind of inspired me actually. It wasn't on sale, but I got them to honor the sale price (so the plastic came out), basically 180 bucks with taxes and fees after rebate.

I think I'll be happy, at least I won't feel guilty about not cleaning it.

That was like a joke with no punchline.

    Happy shooting!

Welcome to the 795 owners club. I just got mine out of jail a couple days ago, haven't shot it yet.

Marlins have a tendency to follow you home. It's almost always a surprise when a new one appears in my safe. I've often stood there wondering, what in the HELL just happened?

You have obviously given out the combo to your safe a little to often.......But in this case I guess it a good thing a guns are appearing not disappearing. I think when the day comes that all the marlins are gone is the day you really will be standing there wondering, what in the HELL just happened!

Ha! Ain't that the truth. It was definitely an impulse purchase. I really enjoy shooting my buddy's 10/22 with Tech Sights and Tapco stock, but I didn't want to put a lot of money into another 22 rifle. For the cost involved in doing something like his, or buying an GSG or something, I would have ANOTHER gun to take care of. I just wanted something that I can abuse, without feeling bad about it.

                            My 'other' .22's

Anshutz Model 1450, my 16th Birthday present. That was a LONG time ago!

The Browning, I love this rifle. It's a work of art!
