Ruger made 10/22 Magnums for a while. They had problems with the receivers cracking and stopped. They're still out there, but hard to find for a decent price. I see them go for over 700 quite a bit. A buddy of mine had one that he converted to 17HMR and it is BADASS... But I can't justify spending 1100 bucks on a rimfire just yet.

I was buying ammo today at the Walmart in Orange. The guy in front of me bought the last box of 22 mag off the shelf. Hate when that happens. Probably better off goin' with a bolt action, Like Spyder said the 10/22 mag gets a stiff price and then you get to ship the rifle to CA $$$.

Volquartsen custom, https://www.volquartsen.com makes one of the most accurate .22 magnums on the market today. It looks a great deal like the Ruger 1022, but in .22 magnum. A bit pricey, but an amazingly accurate rifle. Five shots the size of a nickel at 100 yards when the shooter does his part,

Magnum Research makes one with a carbon fiber barrel.

Magnum research is the best value for a 22mag in a 10/22 type platform.

I have owned 2 Ruger made 10/22's in 22mag. I was very impressed with both. One was an earlier single extractor version, the other was a later two extractor version.

I bought the newer one NIB for $250 and the older one only slightly used for $200.

I sold the NIB verison for $500 (buyer snapped it up way quick) and the older one went for $450. They are getting harder to find if you want a Ruger one. Magnum research gets you a "turn key" tack driver for a good price.
