    CMMG complete .22lr upper reviews?

Does anyone have one of these? They are selling for much cheaper than Spikes or TacSol but I have yet to see one or even find a review on them. I have owned 5.56 uppers of CMMG with no complaints but want to make sure these will be good to go out of the box and won't need any tuning. Thanks for the help.

        I recently bought one.

        Some things to note:
        • Clean it before shooting it. My had alot of white particles.
        • The bolt is held in by a set-screw. Cannot remove bolt without removing set-screw.
        • Only shoot with hot-rounds (CCI mini-mag, match grade amomo or 40gr)

Over all great upper and shoots very will.

I have one, but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. It looks very well built and feels solid, but that's about all I can say right now. I'll report back after I get a chance to shoot it in a few weeks...

            A set-screw?

            Lame.

As to the hot rounds, if you run a set of reduced-power springs and rounded hammer, it will probably run just fine with anything but Remingtons. JP springs are less than $20 shipped.

I have one. It runs like a Timex - in fact it runs far better than I expected. Accuracy is pretty good but probably not as good as the Green Mountain barrels on the Spikes.

Quality overall is very good and on par with .223 uppers.

I had difficulty getting the bolt out when it was new due to the set screw. Oddly, I don't think the set screw is really all that necessary if you leave your buffer in the tube it keeps the bolt assembly in place.

I cleaned it real well before the first time firing it and had a few malfunctions. Now with over 1000 rounds through it, I don't think it has had a malfunction for the last 700+ rounds with the exception of Remington ammo. CCI, Federal (Bulk and Lightning), Winchester, both high velocity and standard all feed without a problem.

Accuracy at 100 yards with Federal Bulk has been about 3-4 inches.

              Overall, I am very happy.

If you are looking for a good .22LR M4 pattern training rifle, I would highly recommend it. If you are looking for a super accurate free-floated wonder .22, then you are probably better served with a Spikes or Tac Sol (of course you will pay more).

Mine did not shoot reliably out the box. After cutting about 6 coils off the recoil spring and modding the feedramp, it pretty much ate anything. Bullets were getting caught on the bottom of the sleeve that goes into the chamber. All I did was take a dremel to smoothen it out. The rounds fed much better afterwards.
