Marlin Model 60 Upgrades?

Ok I recently bought my first .22 LR and I am already wanting to upgrade to a tactical rifle look. Does anyone know of any such mods?

ATI makes a stock for it like a dragunov style, but its not all that great. Seriously keep it stock and shoot the crap out of it or change rifles. They're great plinkers and small kritter gitters as they are. If you want a tacticool setup go with a 10/22 and get the archangel kit for it.

I've got the ATI stock on my 60 and really like it. Out of the box I think the Marlin is more accurate and less picky about ammo than the 10/22 is. The Ruger has it beat when it comes to aftermarket.

Shoot a few hundred rounds through it before you make any changes, then decide what you want to do at that point.

Thanks for all the reply's. I think ill look into the dragnov stock. But it is a really good gun I really enjoy shooting and cleaning it. Just wish I had more places to go shooting.

Marlin is solid out of the box. The Model 60 is a great platform to start on, if you're planning on just shooting a TON of rounds through it.

It is more accurate out of the box than the Ruger, and it's less picky on ammo.

I have the ATI Fiberforce on my Marlin 795 and it's nice. It's well made, and if you feel like the stock on your Marlin is a bit short, then it's especially nice. People hate on ATI products because they're not Knoxx or Tapco, but hey, it's the internet--everybody's an expert.

If you're really looking to go full bore tacti-cool, then I'd say jump onto the 10\22 train. If you just want a pistol grip and a slightly longer stock, get the ATI.

Other than that, you can really only find odds and ends for the Marlin. Over at RimfireCentral there was some guy that was selling aluminum trigger guards and charging handles\cocking levers. There are no hi-cap mags for them (not that they're legal here anyways) other than some really old ones that were made by Marlin way back in the day (people always ask when they live in a hi-cap legal state).

Mine was given to me about 30 years ago so I am not going to modify the existing stock, but may buy one of the ATI stocks for fun.

Wow now that looks nice. Just had a question though, Can I use my old pellet gun scope on my Rimfire rifle? BTW the scope is a Gamo 4x32.

Pellet rifles are often much harsher on scopes than .22lr, believe it or not. If it can survive a Gamo, it should hold up to a .22lr. There are lots of pretty good 4x scopes specifically made for .22lr that cost $40-60, and some of them even come w/ rings. I just bought a Simmons 22MAG 4x scope for my Marlin 60, and it's a really great scope for the money. Available at your friendly neighborhood Wallyworld.

I have a 60c its a very nice looking rifle, and is accurate....I have a bi pod and a nice scope on it.....I haven't taken a pic yet but this is the basic look

Nice looking set up Joe, what scope is that? I just ordered a ATI stock for my 30yo 60. I bought a sling too, and may buy a bipod too. That will have to do until I purchase a 17 HMR.
