Finally got my first gun

Hey, so I finally picked up my Marlin 925 bolt-action rifle yesterday after 10 long days of waiting. I went for a shooting session with a buddy and used ~120 rounds to break it in. Here is a pic. That is all the ammo I have at the moment, 600 rounds. 1000 more are on the way. I also bought a sling and a 10 round mag in addition to 7 round mag that came with it.

Thanks. I got it from Big5 in Davis. Sticker price was $199, but with all new accessories, back ground check and stuff it came to ~$270. I absolutely adore it. it's very accurate, even with cheap ammo. With CCI target ammo, I shot through 2 inches of wood from ~100 yards. That really impressed me.

yes it is. when you buy a safe, suck it up and buy a large safe. trust me. it is worth it.

Silly rabbit tricks are for kids! As a new gun owner its your responsibility not only to keep it locked (secure) and out of a child reach, but also from thieves.

Safes are good for a variety of things, besides weapon storage. Since I got married, my wife has slowly started usurping shelf-space in my gun safe to store some of her jewelry and critical family documents. A 90-minute fire rating makes it ideal for that. Of course, a couple years ago, I had to buy an additional, larger safe, which I'm now working on filling back up with guns. See how fun this sport is?

I have already been encouraged by a friend, so I will probably do so. California is one of the most restricted aka liberal states, so gun owners' rights here are tight
