The guy at turners said that they would only get 100 in for all there stores and had 50 + or - with a deposit or sold @ this point. He gave me a 3 more week time frame and they will call me when they get there.

See, advice from someone who doesn't own one. Too many "fake" features for your taste is NOT a reason to NOT recommend a rifle. I, a Colt owner, would definately recommend it. I have the GSG5, the Colt and am planning on getting the SIG. I doubt I will get the 15-22, but I hear it is a great gun, it just doesn't look enough like an M4 for me. That wouldn't prevent me from recommending it once I got to shoot one though.

I told you guys I'm gonna get hammered by some colt 22 owners. Please guys dont bring your colt vs 15-22 rally over to this thread. I dont own a colt/umarex, but I like the feel of it better than my GsG5 when I tried it a few times last month. Thought research proves it, there hasnt been one person who owns both 15-22 and colt 22 to say the colt is a better gun. Preference is another thing all by it self and if you like the M4, someone here said S&W is coming out with an M4 look alike 22 next year based on the 15-22 platform.

I heard from my local FFL who is a gunsmith, he quoted " the S&W 15-22 barrel cannot be replaceable " because of two reasons, 1) the serial number is on the barrel and 2) Its permanently bond to the polymer receiver. Can anyone confirm this? I looking to buy either a Colt or S&W 22lr rifle soon. Thanks.

You should verify that with them, because i know they take deposites on firearms that they can deliver with in 30 days. So i dont know if they are only taking names to deposites too, but he said the price is fixed.

                price is $499
I heard the same exact thing from a salesman at Turners about 3-4 months ago. He showed me pictures and also said turners was taking deposits, call and verify to see if they are still taking deposits.

My gsg5 has a serial number on the barrel too. what the BFD?

the polymer receiver is not interchangeable on the 15-22. I.E. you cant covert is to 223 for legal reasons in states like ours.

I think the same things should be true for the COLT 22 (not the polymer part of course) but I dont own one, so someone else please confirm.

I was inquiring about changeable (not Interchangeable) just in case if I ruin the barrel or wear it out. Arent the GSG5 barrels replaceable as well?

Yea I have read that some guys got a new barrel. Heck, I am going to have to call ATI to get a new one cuz the ejector is eating at edge of it. I'll let you know by the end of the week.

                          RE: the Sig 522LR

Well I've received (several) correspondence from SIG stating they are pushing the 1st shipment this fall, within the next month but "are doing everything to make it perfect before it ships." The mags are [B]BDM[B] 22lr but Sig branded. Accessories won't be out for a while and 556 accessories most likely won't be interchangeable.

So they take Ciener style conversion kit mags? Am I reading this correctly?
