I have a standard Savage MkII that I bought myself last year from Christmas. It has the accuetrigger and shoots great! I've been kicking around the idea of giving the gun a face lift. A friend of mine bought himself an unfinished Boyds thumb hole stock for his 10/22 and finished it himself, it looks fantastic. That got me thinking of doing the same thing for my Savage. I found this stock on the Boyds website.
The site says its for the Savage 93, but the same stock is selling else ware as a "Savage 93/MkII" so my first question is, will this stock work on my MkII?
For Example: http://www.survivalarms.com.au/compo...d,29/vmcchk,1/
The other thing I found while looking into this stock is this kit to replace the trigger guard. The guard that came with my MkII is plastic, and I'd love to have one that is steel. Only this kit is also labeled as being for a Savage 93 but was linked to the stock for the "Savage 93/MkII".
So I suppose my question is. what is the difference between the 93 and the MkII?
I enjoy shooting the rifle as is, so I'm not going to be heart broken if these products will not work. The sock finishing looks fun, and having a nicer trigger guard would be great. I'm just a bit confused.
Thanks!
