Comparison of Black Dog Machine Mags.

I just can't seem to get CCI mini mags to feed in my ST-22 upper.
I have some black dog 10 rnd mags and compared them to my GSG-5

The GSG 5 has a "ramp" effect on the feedlips to raise the bullet height, i guess it takes advantage of the 22 lr as being a rimmed catridge.

I bought the black dog mags used, could it be that these are the first gen? Can someone post a comparison of 2nd gen vs. 1st gen black dog mags

The only thing different about first and second generation as far as I know is the follower. The second generation has a tall follower to hold open the bolt after the last round. Im quite sure the mag body hasnt changed.

any comments on the feed ramp on the GSG-5 magazine.

If you look closely at the Ruger MK II and the SW22A, the magazine does a bit of lifting to get the whole cartridge at the same level as the bore.

I still get jamming with CCI mini mags and velocitors, the main difference between my rounds is the bullet shape, the fps and grs are about the same.

What ive done with the black dog mags is take them apart and move the red follower back and forth inside the mag many times, wearing them in. That seemed to help me with new mags. The mags seem to crack alot, I think the screws are too tight from the factory so I just snug them down, when you take them apart you will hear the screws pop that tells me they are way to tight.

Also I have the bolt conversion and in the beginning the cci's were too fat for the chamber and the bolt wouldn't close on them. Even after 5000+ rounds. I ended up getting some emery cloth on a smaller drill bit and reaming the chamber hole slightly bigger until the cci's fell in and out. Now on the rare occasion I get a dud I can eject the round out by hand, before I had to use pliers.

I will try reaming the chamber then.
Time to buy an upper vise then, I have the wrench already

Yeah I just have the bolt so its easy to take out, not sure if its easy with the dedicated upper getting a drill in there.
