No, the SIG is not out yet. I got an e-mail from SIG customer service on Monday saying they will be out at the end of the year (for Christmas?). I have my name at the top of the list at my LGS for the SG 522 when it comes out. Until then I will have fun shooting my Colt/Walther M4 .22 LR.

                    S & W M & P Range Report

The following is my review on the new S & W 22.
I put four hundred rounds ( 200 Fedreral Value Pack 36gr, 100 CCI Mini Mag 36 gr. and 100 Winchester Super Speed 40 gr.) through it on Monday at Cordova Shooting Center. The gun worked perfect. I have handle and shot the Colt, it does not compare in feel to the S & W. On the Colt the bolt catches on the mag on the last shot, when the mag is removed the bolt closes. The bolt release is a fake button. I had no failure to Feed or Failure to eject, I had one failure to fire ( Winchester). The gun was a ball to shoot. I shot the iron sights and was suprised at how accurate it was right out of the box. I then put a 3X9 leupold scope on to see how accurate it really was. I then shot it with my Facog Bushnell Red Dot. All shots were taken at 25 yds. resting on sandbags. Below are the results.

WRONG. When the mag on the Colt is removed, the bolt DOES NOT close and it does NOT catch on the magazine. The magazine follower activates a small lever that holds open the bolt. If you are going to review a weapon and compare it to another make sure you have your facts right. I have had my Colt M4 .22 for over a month and NEVER has the bolt closed afte I remove the magazine. Yes, the bolt release is cosmetic on the Colt.....but.....I would much rather have a gun made of metal than of ploymer like the S&W. My Colt has been excellent. I probably would have bougth the S&W if the Colt was not available. BTW, my Colt is that accurate at 25 yards without a scope.

Yup, my Colt is very accurate, surprisingly so!

Good point, the bolt does NOT close when the mag is removed--someone
reading the OP would have gotten some bad info! Pete

Correction, the bolt stays open after the last shot and reminds open even after removing and inserting another loaded magazine. Yes, the bolt release is fake, Pull the charger handle back to reload. Other than that, nice report
