    Old.22 ammo - any value?

I found this old ammo in a box. There are no dates on the boxes, but I imagine its 30+ years old. Does it have any collector value? I'm sure the price tags don't help. I have close-ups of each box and the contents if that helps. Most of the boxes are full and the ammo is in good condition, except the 'Victor" ammo looks corroded.

As a collector of old rimfire ammo, I must say while the ammo is in OK condition, it is also somewhat common and not particularly valuable. My advice is to put it up for sale on Calguns and let someone local to your area buy it for their collection---just don't expect a lot of money.

I can remember those days. Is the Winchester Western yellow box Birdshot?

I would love to scan those for my print collection. If you have a scanner and can do some high-res scans, I'll swap you some shirts (we print shirts) or something for your time.

            Let me know!

The one marked 'Police Targetmaster' may well be a minor rarity, and desirable to a collector......it would be interesting to hear from a 22 box collector as to the age of those Rem and Win boxes......or....is there a cartridge collectors' site on the internet in which that information is available? (I have a bunch of that stuff myself, and am mildly curious about the vintage of the different styles of boxes)

                cheers

                Carla

if people are selling new cci mini mags for 12 bucks a box in the ammo forum, you should get some real dough for these there!

I found and used some of my grandpa's old Remington cleenbore ammo in a box like you have. I have to say that new .22 ammo is not made the way it was back then.

I don't have a chronograph or anything but there was a distinct difference in recoil and sound than any .22 I have fired of recent manufacture. I am willing to bet that they are higher velocity than the stuff we have now.

my 2 cents is to take it out and blast some pests with it.

5 -10 bucks a box. The Targetmaster may fetch 20- 25 for the right guy.

Wow, 67 cents a box. Gee golly, mister. That's sure swell.

Looks definitely like classic print/poster material. I think you might get a lot more than you might expect for this stuff.

They have the Revelation at 18 a box.
