my 22 savage mako best today

    Hello all,

I finally got a group from my savage MkII that is worth talking about.

    Gun: Savage MKII mako
    rest: caldwell rock
    ammo: wolf Match target
    distance: 50 yards
    winds: 3-8 mph

I had changed the hold and position of a couple differnt things.. then this came up. will certainly try to repeat but wanted to end on a good note for the day.

saw a really neat .22lr 1919 gun looked like a lot of fun.

while that group looks pretty good , as a guess its about .400 ctc ? It needs to be more of a round shape . as I dont know what you have tried I would like to suggest that you try torque settings on the action screws , going in 2 inch lb increments starting at 4 and going to 25 with a wood stock and to 35 if its been bedded. I have seen this tried on a savage by a good freind and i have done this on a kimber, Mossberg, anschutz and a cz all with sucess . I have watched the groups go from almost 3/4 inch down close to 1/4 with repeatable results .

I don't have an adjustable torque wrench. this is torqued to 18 in/lbs and am looking to get something that can go down lower.
