Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to rustybowtie.com.
    It's not PTSD, it's nostalgia.

Same here, no go to that website.

Is the fix a shim between the set screw and the hammer spring?
Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.

It's a legit web site...it's mine since 2009, I have been a member here for years. The problem is within Godaddy my host!

The link works fine without the s in https.
The site does not have a certificate for https to work but http works just fine.

The problem has nothing to do with godaddy.
The problem is with the site owner not purchasing an https certificate.

https is not required...not a commercial site. I have certificates for my commercial sites

              Just updated the link

I didn't bother trying the website but will offer that misfire with the 617 is a known issue and S&W will fix it promptly free of charge. Notify them and they will get you fixed.

My 617 ran perfectly until I sold it to buy a Ruger SP-101 in .22. The 617 was a great revolver only too heavy (40 oz.). The SP-101 is 30 oz. and only two rounds smaller (8 vs. 10).

10-4 I prefer the 617 because it has the extra weight...even added some for competition.

BTW: It loves the Federal bulk at 50 yards

To be sure, the 617 is a wonderful revolver (I have somewhat regretted selling it) but it was too heavy for my wife to shoot because she has arthritis in her shooting hand. The SP-101 was better but still hard for her to pull the trigger (even in SA mode).

In retrospect I should have stuffed the 617 into the safe and added the SP-101 to the arsenal. Can't have too many excellent, modern .22 handguns.

10-4...My 4" 617 is one of my favorites - just looks and feels great out of the box.
