Sweet, you'll love it! I bought one off Gunbroker several years back. I probably paid a little too much for it but I wanted it and now I have it.

I miraculously found a couple of spare firing pins for it too, which are in the rainy day box. Apparently the pins on them are very prone to breaking and are nowhere to be found. I sent one off to a guy who was supposed to replicate them but he never did, and almost a year later I got him to send it back. Don't dry fire it!

I paid too much also, Chinese SKS money, but they're just not found in the wild anymore. Thanks for the heads up on the FP, I'll keep an eye out. It's my understanding that you can use 10/22 mags in a 96 but not the reverse. I guess the 96 mag is flat bottomed not curved. The lever gun has been on my list alongside an International stocked 10/22. PAX

I think the mags interchange fine, they just aren't flush with the bottom.

I've shot mine a bunch, great fun. Short throw, quick, accurate. You can take aftermarket 10/22 barrels and file a second extractor groove so you can use lower cost higher quality barrels with it if you want. I did that.
