J. Stevens "Favorite" -- Remake?

Hi all,
A friend recently cleaned up and replaced the firing pin on my Dad's "Favorite" by J. Stevens -- .22
It is a joy to shoot, especially knowing it was my Dad's from about 1928 or so.

The thing is, it was cut down to a "youth" size just for him.

I had no idea how popular and how difficult it is to find a full-sized, restored model.

Then I heard a "rumour" that someone, somewhere is or had manufactured a contemporary remake of this wonderful single-shot .22 LR.

Has anyone a clue, inkling, or idea if this rumour is true?

Savage 71 was made in 1971 only
Savage 72 crackshot (octogon barrel) was made from 1972 to 1989
Savage 74 little favorite (round barrel budget 72) was made from 1972 to 1974
Savage 30 favorite was made from 1999 to 2010

I do not believe that any of these parts interchange with the original 1920's era rifles though.
