Savage B22 Magnum

Talk me out of buying. Or talk me into buying.
Right now I'm going to buy this rifle. Should I buy or should I buy something else.

It looks like a lot of fun. I have heard good things about those bolt action Savage rimfires, especially their triggers. Do you already have a .22 mag? If not, stocking it as a new caliber is probably the main detraction. It's not cheap like a .22lr but if you need the extra power for hunting it's hard to beat.

Yes I have a magnum pistol. So I have plenty 22 Magnum .
Your right it's not cheap. Also have two good scopes just sitting.

Really to me for what the price of the .22 Mag costs.. It takes the fun out of it for me.. Unless you really have a purpouse for the .22 Mag..Other than wanting one I guess.. I personally pass on them.. I have had a few .22 Mags over the years and have sold them all. I have more fun with a .22 LR and alot cheaper.. I have also had other rimfires I thought I really needed in 17 HMR, .17 HM2.. Those are long gone also..

Yes the .22 mag has a little heavier bullet and velocity over a .22 LR.. But the velocity can be about the same with something in .22 LR using Stingers and such.. Bullet weight will help with longer range shooting I guess. But for what the cartridge is, it is way over priced for the minimal gain over a good old .22 LR in my opinion..

But if you want a .22 Mag..I am sure not going to talk you out of..Buy what you want..

Yeah I have 3 .22 LR's . They are fun. But the .22 magnum is fun too.
AR22 your probably right I will get board with what ever I buy.
And I don't shoot that much now days.
I probably should just drag the BB/Pellet gun out. Go 15 feet out back and shoot.
