    beretta neos

Anyone but me own one? I am having a hard time with a failure to feed problem. First 500 rounds, no problem. Now almost constant. Almost always with the second round, then no problems. I have two magazines, same with each. I really thought it was the magazines being dirty and that is part of the problem. If I clean them, the gun will fire fine for about the first 60-80 rounds, then right back to the FTF problem. I've got about 900 rounds through it, nothing else seems to be an issue and the gun is completely clean. I will try some different ammo next time, but I'm interested in whether anyone who owns one of these has had similar issues/solutions.

    Thanks in advance.

Can you be a little more specific on what happens when if ftf?

      2nd round

The second round lodges above the bore as opposed to going into the bore. My thinking was that the magazine was dirty and so in the split second the slide comes back, the round in the magazine doesn't get into position quickly enough and this has the round out of position when the slide returns.

The only time I have trouble is when I fire 350-400 rounds in one session at the range. It's only because I know that the feed ramp and extractor are getting fouled by burnt powder. I just wipe with a cloth and it will function for about 50-100 rounds more before it will stop and I have to clean.

How do you clean your Neos? Do you take the barrel off the frame and clean everything? Or do you just run a brush and patch down the barrel and wipe everything down?

My first guess would be problems with the magazines. Then ammo. If you can get different magazines and ammo, and you still have feeding problems, I'd give Beretta a call.

Interesting, mine had a feeding problem just like you mentioned, but it was only when rapid firing. It never happened slow firing. I attributed it to an incorrect grip.

It only happened to me once, so I don't know if my experience is any help to you. I do know that every time I shoot it, I remove the barrel/slide/firing pin and clean everything up with electronics cleaner and lube with Rem Oil. FYI

            Thanks

For the replys. I'm going to try different ammo, although I have 3,500 rounds of the stuff I've been using, so we'll see. I may also tinker with the mag lips and see if I can loosen them up a hair as I am pretty sure that is the problem. I keep the gun immaculately clean so no problem there.
