      Old Style New Model Sporter.

I bought a Ruger Sporter Stainless 10/22 with the 22 inch barrel and wood stock last year. Its one of those Lipsey's limited model without the barrel band.

Took me a long time to locate one and finally got lucky when browsing GunBroker.com. I like the old style of the 10/22 rather than the newer tactical/modern setup.

As far as 10/22s go, I'd like an International if I stumble across one but what I've been looking for is a model 96 lever .22lr because I have many 10 round mags.

APPLES, I got a sight combo from Brownell's or Midway decades ago, rear windage and elevation adjustable aperture with an HK91 looking hooded front. Very fast set up. That rifle was in a crappy Ramline side folder for 40 years and went in a Tacstar about 7 years ago. One of my boys wanted his 10/22 in a Muzzlelite bull pup. I glued a small plastic washer to the rear sight V and with the hood front it's like ghost rings. my boy could one hand it like a pistol.
I've got a Tech site 200 on one of my SKS rigs. Although it's a longer sight radius it takes more "aiming" for me. The Mojo and William fire sites are quicker. The Williams is like ghost rings with the aperture removed. PAX
