LabRadar Cannot Measure 22LR Velocity?

The other day at my local range a gentleman was measuring the muzzle velocity of his centerfire rifle cartridge (7mm PRC?). He was using a LabRadar and it worked well. However, when I tried my 22LR revolver, the LabRadar could not show any muzzle velocity. Nobody there had a clue what was going on.

How do you measure your 22LR muzzle velocity?

old fashioned optical chronograph. shooting chrony F1.

mine will also measure .22 pellets. as slow as 500 fps

It can. I do it often. Set to handgun mode. Max the sensitivity. Place muzzle just behind the Labradar. Should work without the add-on microphone. If not, add the microphone.

Mine works fine with .22LR pistol?
You Must change the settings from rifle to pistol.

Could be multiple issues, but the main one is .22LR may not be loud enough to trigger to chrono. I had to add an external microphone before it would detect .22LR rifle.

My Labradar works best with .22 lr from a handgun, but longer barrel .22 lr rifles and subsonic ammo can give error readings due to low noise level.

In another thread it was pointed out that the Garmin unit does not give multiple readings as the projectile flies down range. With the Labradar you get 5 readings at custom set distances (mine seems to work out to 75-100 yards depending on size of projectile), while the Garmin gives a single reading at about 10 yards.
