    ruger 10/22 lockback question

Do 10/22's typically not lock back after the last round? is there something simple that can be done to get it to do so (i.e. a Volk part?)

no they don't lock back. the only mod i've seen close to what you're talking about is the Volquartsen Automatic Bolt Release.

Yes it does. And since they charge almost 2X as much as a standard Ruger mag, makes it a no-go for me.

it does not lock back. Ruger says that it is ok to dry fire anyways.

I didn't confirm this yet but it doesn't look like the firing pin extends past the face of the bolt on my 10/22. I should measure it but I believe the firing pin does not need to extend past the face of the bolt because the headspace clearance is milled into it. I'll double check it after this weekend when it strip it for cleaning.
