the afternoon mail brought my new sportsmans guide catalog. they have centurion .22 for $156.72 for 5000 rounds. 500 rounds for $ $16.60, sounds like a deal all things considered. has anybody had good experience with this stuff?

Stuff goes bang every time, but it's plenty dirty.

They shoot well enough. Not as great as Federal bulk or MiniMags, but as faust said, goes bang every time . I personally don't like them because they don't work very well in my cliploader, but I'm guessing I'll like them plenty when I load it in my 10/22 mags since I don't have a speed loader for those.

Oh, and at that price, it's a steal. I paid $210 for my case.

even applying the $10 coupon and the club price, it's $166 shipped

Not the cleanest ammo ever, but this stuff has been one of the most reliable bulk ammos ive put through my guns. My guns like it better than Federal, Remmy, Winchester etc bulk.. by far. Yes it is made by Aguila, and made in Mexico

sorry, I didn't read as I two-finger typed.... that is incorrect at 126.72. the correct amount is 156.72 at the buyers club price. now I wish I knew how to correct the mistake?

Perhaps this thread has been dead for a long time, but I just used this ammo (Centurion) for the second time and now I can share my side of the story:
                      - it bangs every time - no problem with it
                      - I had a few FTE in my MarkIII 22/45. An empty cartridge simply get stuck in the ejection port and prevents a next round from going in. Turning the gun on by ejection port's side down and shaking it a little usually helps.
                      - it is quite dirty. A 100 rounds through and the guns is covered in powder's residue. Pain in a neck to clean :-(
                      - I'm using clip speed loader and rounds are sticking to each other and sometimes it's hard to get them into the mag.

I'm shooting Rem Golden Bullets and has no issue like above whatsoever. However, considering price and availability Centurion seems Ok.

it works well in my spikes dedicated upper - one of the most accurate 22lr types that i have used when compared with federal automatch, minimags, american eagle.

great price - i got mine for $228 shipped from jgsales.

looks like it is now back ordered to January 2010.

I bought some of this ammo a while ago. Over 2k rounds, I haven't had any misfires, though I had a couple stovepipes. It does smell kinda funny, though...

Was this stuff way more expensive in the past? SG has it for 165 for 5000 rounds, I see people talking about buying/selling it for well over $200/5000, is the SG price just an incredible deal?
